It had been two years since Jefferson had began dating the girl that he seen in the Blue Velvet on his birthday. Knowing that Easter was Michelle’s favourite holiday, he decided to wait until Easter Sunday to propose to her.
“Michelle, I have waited for this day to arrive for months. I chose this day because out of all the holidays, this is your favourite.” Jefferson said as he kneeled upon one leg and began searching in his pocket for the engagement ring.
“Jefferson, are you asking me to marry you?” Michelle asked in disbelief.
Pulling out the ring, Jefferson tried to ignore his girlfriends interruption.
“Michelle Wilkinson, will you make me the happiest man in the whole wide world and marry me?” Jefferson asked as a small smile graced his lips.
Silence filled the air as Michelle looked down at the engagement ring and smiled brightly.
“Yes, a thousand times yes.” Michelle replied and laughed lightly as Jefferson let out a relieved sigh.
The following night, Jefferson and Michelle met up with Georgia in the Blue Velvet.
“Sis, we have some news.” Jefferson said as both he and Michelle sat down at the table.
“You are getting married?” Georgia asked mischievously.
“How did you know?” Jefferson asked shocked.
“You both are grinning like two Cheshire cats, oh and because Michelle is wearing an engagement ring.” Georgia replied playfully. “Congratulations!”
Later that night, the group went back to the Lachance household and as Georgia walked to her bedroom she overheard voices coming from the bathroom. The voices belonged to Jefferson and Michelle and although they was trying to kept their voices down, they wasn’t as quite as they thought.
“We are going to have a baby.” Michelle whispered loudly.
“A baby?” Jefferson asked.
“Yes, the pregnancy test is positive.” Michelle replied.
As Georgia walked back to her bedroom, she couldn’t help but smile at the thought that soon she would become an Aunt.
